Our Dropispy review: there is no free trial, the Free plan hides the last two months of ads, and Premium at €29.90 a month opens Facebook ads only. In our test, Dropispy added new ads a median of 3 days after posting, 24 of 71 on the day.
| What we tested | |
|---|---|
| Account | Premium, €29.90 a month, period 9 October to 9 November 2026 |
| Free plan | a separate account, 8 October 2026 |
| Searches | page name “Gymshark” and “MANSCAPED”, sorted by post creation date |
| Ads opened | 71, each with its post and first-seen dates |
| Networks | 1 (Facebook) |
Every figure in this Dropispy review comes from those sessions, and each screenshot below carries its date.
Dropispy free trial and the Free plan
Dropispy has no free trial. Its pricing lists three plans, Free, Premium and Business, and neither the pricing page nor the FAQ mentions a Dropispy trial of the paid ones. What Dropispy offers instead is a Free plan with no card, and on it the feed opens with a banner: “You are in free plan, the ads of the last 2 months are not displayed.”

Dropispy free search is also limited. In the Search Filters window, text search, post creation date, page name and countries are greyed out on Free, with an “Upgrade to enable all filters” button on top. So on the Free plan you can browse the default feed, but you cannot look up one competitor.

Verdict: The Dropispy Free plan is a demo of the feed, not a research tool; you need Premium to search by competitor.
What Dropispy Premium opens
Premium costs €29.90 a month inside the app. The public pricing page shows $29.90 a month, or $14.90 a month paid yearly, so the currency depends on where you look. Business costs €249.90 a month and adds the Dropispy API and 1,800,000 credits.

Premium comes with 150,000 credits a month. Dropispy spends credits on searches, scrolling and detail pages; in our session one ad detail page took 90 credits, so a month covers roughly 1,600 detail views. Our whole freshness test, 71 ads plus the searches, used about 1,700.
Premium opens one network: Facebook. The app has an Ads section for Facebook and a Shops section, and nothing for Instagram or TikTok. Dropispy’s own FAQ describes the database as 40 million ads and 400 thousand shops, and the homepage says 20k+ new ads are added every day.
Verdict: €29.90 is the cheapest paid plan we have tested, and it buys Facebook ads plus shop data.
How fresh Dropispy’s ads are
Every Dropispy ad has three dates: post creation, first seen and last seen. The gap between the first two is how long the ad took to reach Dropispy. On 12 October 2026 we opened 71 Dropispy ads from Gymshark and Manscaped: 24 were first seen on their post day, 29 within one day, and the median gap was 3 days.

Manscaped shows the problem best. The newest Manscaped ad in Dropispy was posted on 22 September 2026, while the brand was launching new ads on 6 October. For Gymshark, the 16 ads posted since 1 September had a median gap of 1 day.
We ran the same test on the same two advertisers in Spytrend and PowerAdSpy on 8 and 9 October 2026:
| Tool | Ads checked | On the day | Median gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spytrend | 50 | 44 | 0 days |
| Dropispy | 71 | 24 | 3 days |
| PowerAdSpy | 31 | 1 | 15 days |
The tools hold different copies of each campaign, so these are not the same ads compared one by one. Spytrend counts from the launch date in Meta, Dropispy and PowerAdSpy from the post date. Details are in our Spytrend review and PowerAdSpy review.
Verdict: Check the first-seen date before treating a Dropispy ad as new; in our test the median gap was 3 days.
Dropispy runs on Minea’s infrastructure
Dropispy and Minea share infrastructure. Dropispy’s app requests its ad data from minea-prod-api.dropispy.com, and the “link to the video” button on Dropispy ad cards points to media-cdn.minea.com, the media server Minea uses. Neither site says who owns the other, and the two are sold as separate products with separate prices: Dropispy from €29.90, Minea from $49 a month.
Verdict: If you are choosing between Dropispy and Minea, assume overlapping data and compare price and features, not database size.
Dropispy login and sign-up
The Dropispy login is email and password; there is no Google sign-in on the login page. To sign up you give an email, a name and your nationality, then click the link in a verification email before the app lets you in. The Free plan needs no card.
Dropispy extension
Dropispy’s plan table lists a Chrome extension on all three plans. On 12 October 2026 a Chrome Web Store search for “dropispy” returned no results, and the extension link Dropispy sends in its support chat opened “This item is not available”.

Dropispy on Reddit
Dropispy reddit threads are few and mostly old. On 12 October 2026 a Reddit comment search for “dropispy” returned mentions in passing: r/dropshipping product-research threads that list it next to Minea and PPSpy, and an r/dropship thread from four years ago titled “Adspy vs Dropispy or others”. We found no recent thread that tests it in depth.
Dropispy alternatives we tested
Every tool on this site is tested on an account we use ourselves. These are the ones that overlap with Dropispy, in alphabetical order.
| Tool | Cheapest way in | Paid from | Use it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| BigSpy ↗ | Free plan: 5 searches a day | $69/mo | you want to test the idea at zero cost across 10 social platforms |
| Dropispy | Free plan, last 2 months of ads hidden | €29.90/mo | you want the cheapest paid plan for Facebook ads and shop data |
| Minea ↗ | Free account; Meta ads asked for an upgrade on 12 October 2026 | $49/mo | product hunting with shop and brand tracking |
| PowerAdSpy | 3-day trial for $7, Facebook only | $69/mo (pricing page), $99 inside the account | you need LinkedIn, Quora or Reddit ads, on Palladium at $399 |
| Spytrend | Free plan: ads older than 3 months | $79/mo | you need fresh Facebook, Instagram and TikTok ads with advertiser totals |
Dropispy is the only tool here under $49 a month. If you need Instagram or TikTok as separate feeds, or ads on their launch day, the cheaper price does not cover it.
Who Dropispy is for
The bottom line of this Dropispy review: Dropispy fits dropshippers who browse Facebook ads and shops on a tight budget and can live with a 3-day median delay. It is a poor fit for tracking a competitor’s newest campaign or for anything beyond Facebook, and the Free plan is too locked to judge it by.
FAQ
Is there a Dropispy free trial?
No. Dropispy has no trial of its paid plans; it has a Free plan instead, which hides ads from the last two months and locks keyword, page name and country search. Premium costs €29.90 a month inside the app. Spytrend and BigSpy also have free plans: Spytrend shows ads older than three months, BigSpy allows five searches a day.
Does Dropispy have a Chrome extension?
Dropispy’s plan table lists a Chrome extension on every plan, but on 12 October 2026 a Chrome Web Store search for “dropispy” returned no results, and the store link Dropispy sends in its support chat opened “This item is not available”. Dropispy, Spytrend and BigSpy all work as web apps in the browser.
How to use Dropispy?
Sign up with email, verify it, then open Ads, click Filters and search by page name, text or domain (Premium only), and sort by post creation date. Open Details on an ad to see when it was posted and when Dropispy first saw it; each detail view used 90 of the 150,000 monthly credits in our session. To compare freshness, Spytrend shows the launch date on every ad card.
Are Dropispy and Minea the same company?
They share infrastructure. Dropispy’s app loads its ad data from minea-prod-api.dropispy.com, and its “link to the video” buttons point to media-cdn.minea.com, Minea’s media server. Neither site states a common owner, and the two are sold separately: Dropispy from €29.90 and Minea from $49 a month. Spytrend is a separate service with its own ad database.
